Minimum substitute teacher qualifications for the Smart Start training program include
- a clear criminal background check
- a minimum of 18 years of age
- two character references
- a minimum of a GED or high school diploma
- successful completion of the five day training; and
- a commitment to work a minimum of 4 days a month as a substitute teacher
I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved the Smart Start program and I think anyone who has any desire to work with children should take this course! Including expectant mothers!! I have received a phone call and/or email every day for substitute jobs! I have just taken a lead teacher position in the mobile infant room in a church preschool. Thank you again! I have already recommended this class to several people!
